Allow Me to give you a reason to interview me
As potential employees we become very frustrated because the job market, especially today, is brutal. We spend so much time just trying to become interviewed with little success. The reality is you have not been given much reason to interview us, and for that matter me. An interview is an investment of your time, which is valuable. For most of us who have not yet had some incredible employment, distinguished internships, or advanced degrees our resumes cannot stand out without becoming a lie. Therefore, allow me to answer some standard questions of yours so you can have a true reason to believe I am not just qualified, but an ideal candidate.
Sample Interview
· Tell me about yourself.
This is discussed in the “About me section”.
· What are your strengths?
My biggest strength in my opinion is my intellect. I am a very smart person and can learn things faster than others. I am a very efficient person. I can multi-task and allocate my time effectively. Finally I am a very resilient person. I do not give up or quit.
· What's your ideal company?
A company which truly gives dignity to its employees and therefore is a place I can be proud to work. A company that rewards merit and the best employees are promoted within the company.
· When were you most satisfied in your job?
I have been most satisfied with any job when something I did was completed and successful. That could be getting trained in a new skill or position, or completing a successful project.
· What are you looking for in terms of career development?
I am looking to advance within a company as far as I can. I plan to perfect whatever position I may receive and then be promoted by my superiors.
· How would you go about establishing your credibility quickly with the team?
The first thing to do is show my ability to do my position well. No one will give you respect if you cannot do your job. Second I would take ownership of my position within the company. When an employee earns a position within a company both you and the company are in a symbiotic relationship. You both need to do well for the other to survive.
· How long will it take for you to make a significant contribution?
Not long at all. I am able to learn quickly and adapt. This will allow me to become a quality member of the team immediately.
· What would be your ideal working environment?
I enjoy many kinds of work environments. I enjoy working in groups but can also work alone. Being micromanaged is something I truly dislike. I believe it creates a bad work environment full of stress and distrust.
· Are you a leader?
I have always thought myself a leader. When I was younger I played in three sports and was captain. In my first job at in-n-out burger I became a trainer who had to train other in positions before they could be promoted. I have also taken classes which have taught me ways to be a good leader.
· What are the qualities of a good leader?
A good leader is able to lead not because of fear from discipline but because of respect. They should both command respect but also have a history of earning respect. A good leader creates a cohesive environment where everyone makes the other better. They should recognize the most valuable people are their subordinates and encourage them to lead among themselves. They should empower their subordinates, encourage them, and they should model the way.
In addition, these are all qualities of myself which I can bring to your company and make a difference. One leadership theory I live by and will bring with me to your company is called "Total Quality Management". By definition TQM " is based on the premise that the quality of products and processes is the responsibility of everyone involved with the creation or consumption of the products or services offered by an organization, requiring the involvement of management, workforce, suppliers, and customers, to meet or exceed customer expectations. I look forward to our interview.
